Privacy
This page covers the Swiss Rounds app from version 2.0, and this website. Versions before 2.0 are covered by the earlier policy. Last updated on 8 November 2026.
Who is responsible
Swiss Rounds is made by Frank Hartman and Thom van de Vin. Thom van de Vin is responsible for the data on this page. You can reach him at [email protected].
In the app
Your tournaments, player names and results are stored on your device. There's no account, and the app doesn't send any of it anywhere.
To see how the app is used, it sends a few events to PostHog, an analytics service that stores them in the EU. An event is sent when a tournament starts or finishes, when a round finishes, and for each step of the introduction the first time you open the app. Each event says which format was played, how many players took part or which round it was. PostHog's library adds the app version, the device model, the iOS version, the language and time zone settings, and the screen size. Events never include names or results.
The app doesn't store an ID for you, so events from different launches can't be linked together or traced back to you. PostHog receives your IP address when an event arrives, as any server does, and doesn't store it.
We do this because we have a legitimate interest in improving the app. Because nothing links the events to you, we can't look up or delete the events from your phone. We keep them while Swiss Rounds is being developed and delete them when it isn't.
Buying the app
Apple handles the purchase on the App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy. Apple shows us totals, such as downloads per country, and never who bought the app.
